Meet Josh

Your home / investment is likely to be one of the most important financial investments in your life. Only after obtaining some knowledge of who I am would I expect you to be able to consider and then entrust me in representing you in the sale or purchase of yoru home/ investment.

I was born in Big Springs, Texas on December 2, 1963. My mother, sister and I moved to the Bay Area when I was two. We settled in Berkeley when I was three. Except for when away at college and three years in high school, I have lived in San Francisco, Albany or Berkeley since 1966.

I attended Albany public schools from third grade through ninth grade. From tenth through twelve grade I attended high school in Morgan Hill, CA - home of the mighty Acorns.

Upon graduation from high school I enrolled at the University of Colorado - Boulder. In 1987 I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. Upon graduating I worked winters in Winter Park, Colorado as an alpine ski instructor and ski shop manager. In the summers I worked construction here in the Bay Area.

With my small business experience at Winter Park ski shops combined with a burning desire to one day own / operate my own business, I prepared myself to enroll in graduate school. In 1990 I enrolled in the University of Connecticut Masters in Business Administration program.

In 1992 I graduated with an MBA with concentration in real estate finance, marketing and management. My soon to be wife, Reba, and I moved back to San Francisco. For four years I was employed at World Savings and Loan in the Real Estate Appraisal Department. There, I appraised residential and multi-residential property throughout Northern California and Colorado.

Becoming well versed in the appraisal aspect of the real estate industry, my desire to keep learning and to embrace challenges was inspiration for a career change. Upon researching other potential careers in the real estate industry I decided on real estate sales.

My goal in a chosen career has been to be involved in a decision of great import where I could lend my professionalism, expertise and enthusiasm in providing guidance in making decision individuals can be confident and proud of. Considering my theoretical and hands on experience, I am confident I can and will be a great asset to clients making real estate buying or selling decisions. Secondly, being an independent contractor allows me to get first hand experience running my own business. Thirdly, I have the flexibility in my schedule to be involved in a great passion of mine -- coaching mens basketball at a local junior college.

Other passions of mine include my wife, Reba (not MacIntyre), our Chocolate Labrador named Booker, our home in El Cerrito, camping, hiking, biking, traveling by foot or bike, cross country skiing, windsurfing, investing, dancing and family. I have competed within the last five years at the expert level in mountain biking and cyclecross.
